Looks like my friend Darren Rouse is going to walk us through a series on how to optimize Google Adsense for increased blog profits and ad revenues. Darren certainly knows how to leverage Google Adsense as he is a six figure revenue blogger. Darren publishes some 17+ blogs and uses a combination of publishing strategies and revenue generating programs to maximum effect. Google Adsense is a speciality of his although he doesn't use Google Adsense exclusively.
Over the next few days Darren is going to do an analysis of 8 high profile blogs and provide his thoughts on how Google Adsense can be used more effectively. This should be of interest to all bloggers as we seek to improve revenue streams our blogs. Google Adsense seems to be as much art as it is science sometimes as what works on ... more » Wednesday, April 27

Michael Pollock of Small Business Branding blog succinctly points out that logo's aren't really whats in important.. He makes the point that your brand identity is what people think and feel about your business.
Herein lies one of the biggest bloggers advantages and this is connecting in personally powerful ways with your target audience. By establishing deeper relationships you are able to effectively influence how people think and feel about you and your business. While I submit that investing in a branded design with your blog is not a wasted investment, realize that your connection is what will create your blog's greatest success. This is evidence by the many, many blogs that maintain simple layouts and yet connect with and communicate successfully with a core audience. Michael points out that the logo is simply the symbol of your brand. ... more » Monday, April 25

<RANT> Alright it's pretty early EDT at about 2am approximately. I was researching a topic for another blog I'm considering publishing. I'm searching with some of my favorite social search directories like Eurekster, Technorati, Feedster and BlogDigger. Apparently I hit the search results shortly after someone blogged and pinged their pages into the blogosphere. The top results of my searches were dominated by pages that were completely useless to me. What was even more irritating is that fact that at least the top 10 results in Eurekster, Technorati and Feedster were dominated by these pages. Only BlogDigger didn't show a single one of these pages. Feedster of course gave me the option to exclude those Blogspot.com results. This person took a page generator and set up about 80 blogspot.com blogs and cranked out useless pages all pointing to ... more »

Mozilla FireFox is just plain customizable...It's all about the extensions (plug-ins) folks... It's all about the extensions...!
Here are my most used and highly recommended plug-ins for Mozilla FireFox: 1. TinyURL Creator - Oh man, this has got to be one of the most useful extensions around. Get this one and most of the other extensions at Jeremy's Mozilla Extensions 2. BlogJet This 0.4 Scroll to bottom and click the Release 0.4 link. This requires Firefox 1.0 and for those using the BlogJet desktop blog editor. 3. FoxyTunes 1.1. This one is hot if you are avid audio listener while you do your PC thing! According to the FoxyTunes site: "FoxyTunes supports many popular media players on three major platforms - Windows, Linux and Mac OS and works with all the main Mozilla products - Firefox, Thunderbird ... more »

According to this article by Inc.com, business blogging is on the rise.

Okay, so I'm checking my FeedDemon RSS updates (the best RSS Reader on planet earth...actually I do have a few secondary favorites but FeedDemon is my favorite) and I happen upon a find from Scripting News about a new and innovative search engine for Podcasts called Podscope.
New Podcast Search Engine Podscope is very unique and bleeding edge in that they are the first search engine that actually allows you to search for spoken words within any audio or video file. Er...that would mean that you would want to mention your keywords specifically within your audio and video stream for search optimization? Hmmmm... You can read more about Podscope on their blog and FAQ pages. But make sure you go to Podscope and give it a try. You can submit your audio and video URLs here. Podscope just ... more »
